A round of blackjack is simple in principle, but of course looks a little different in detail. First, a round begins in which players place their bets. There are usually minimum bets and betting limits at a table. Then the dealer starts shuffling the cards and a player separates the deck. This is to prevent potential cards from being counted. Now each player receives a card from the dealer, which is placed face up in front of him. Also, the dealer deals himself a card. Next, each player is dealt another card. If the dealer has cards ranging in value from 7 to Ace, the player should draw to a maximum of 17 points. Otherwise, the player should not draw from 12 points in order not to take unnecessary risks.
